Principal's Message
The last four months have flown by and winter holidays will be here in the blink of an eye. McNair has been a hub of activity as students immersed themselves in Term Two studies and participated in many extra-curricular activities. McNair's Music Program presented a wonderful music festival in a new format that saw over 30 instrumental and choral groups perform. Winter sports are well underway and the annual Pep Rally organized by Athletic Council was enjoyed by all. The Marlinaires have completed a very successful Penny Drive and Student Council has been busy planning numerous activities including our annual Toy Drive. Rehearsals are underway for this year’s musical, “Honk”, PE and Mini school ski trips are in the works, numerous course related field trips have taken place and Grade 11 and 12s participated in our annual Post-Secondary Institution Information Day. Our Grad Winter Formal was a huge success.
I extend my congratulations to the 270 students who qualified for Term One Honour Roll or Principal's Roll and the 380 students who achieved Super G. Letters of recognition have gone home to each of these students. Our PAC is a dedicated group who meets monthly. If you are interested in joining this very welcoming group please join us at our next meeting on January 15th at 7:00 p.m. This year's Dry Grad parents are also hard at work planning the 2013 event. We are proud of the accomplishments of our students and thank staff, parents and our many student leaders for their hard work, support, and contributions to McNair.
Our two week winter break begins Saturday, December 22nd, and provides students an opportunity to relax with family and friends and get ready for the challenges and opportunities of the New Year. When students return on January 7th, there will be only three weeks remaining in Semester One. Please remind your child to check with their teachers about missing assignments and exam dates.
